UKCIA was formed back in 1995 by members of the original Legalise Cannabis Campaign, itself formed way back in the mid-70′s.
Although the debate has moved on in some ways since then, things haven’t changed that much and we still suffer the dangers created by the prohibition regime. These days the dangers go way beyond simply “getting busted” – cannabis is no longer something hippies bring back from trips to Morocco, it’s become big business.
Street supplies are now often badly contaminated and strengths vary greatly. The age people start using cannabis has steadily dropped over the years and these days it’s not unusual for kids to be getting stoned.
The law is creating bigger and bigger problems day by day, yet politicians are stuck in some weird time-warp, supported by a media which is at best badly informed, at worst dedicated to downright lying in support of prohibition.
UKCIA newsblog will do its best to bring honest information and comment.
UKCIA main site
The main website of UKCIA contains information about cannabis, it’s uses, risks and benefits. We try to be objective because the best weapon against prohibition is the truth.
